This is a common question that many people have these days because it can be a very rewarding business. They may be ready to get out of the business to enjoy more free time for other activities. Chances are they already have a loyal consumer base that stops in for coffee on a regular basis. As part of the deal you can have them show you the different drinks they offer and how to make them. This will ensure you are able to continue offering the same delicious drinks when those consumers come in under your ownership.
Before you buy a coffee shop check out the building it is located in as well as all the equipment thoroughly. You don’t want to continually have to invest in new equipment or costly repairs. They can nickel and dime you to death so that you don’t have any profits to show for your hard work. Try to buy a coffee shop that has been well maintained and has warranties still in place on the equipment. This way you don’t have to worry so much about coming up with money for such expenses.
Take your time to really think about what you want to get out of such a purchase. When you buy a coffee shop you are going to need to know how to make quality drinks or at least be willing to learn. You also have to work well with other people and get up early in the morning. The majority of your coffee will be sold in the early morning hours before people go to work. Some people enjoy this time of morning but others simply tire of it quickly and dread having to go operate their coffee shop each morning.
